Architecture - LONDON/SHEFFIELD OPENkhana

Explores the use of digital techniques for mapping and representation that deal with social, cultural and political issues. The majority of our research deals with representing migrant agency in the city. With architects Nishat Awan and Phil Langley.

While my grandparents* were still alive they would take us to eat Sunday lunch in the local hospital canteen, because it offered an unbeatably reasonable all-you-can-eat buffet with bacon bitzTM. We would dutifully devour congealing potato salad and icecream with six kinds of sprinkles, wedged among the morbidly obese and rotting geriatrics with oxygen tanks plugged into their nostrils. In the corner an elderly gentleman wearing a glitter bowtie and visor hammered out showtunes on a Hammond organ. Grandma would sneak naked chicken legs into her handbag for the cats. She died with Walter Kauffman’s “Critique of Religion and Philosophy” on her shelf, probably unread, which I rescued and haven’t read either.
